Before you come
Questions people actually ask
If yours isn't here, write to me. I answer within 48 hours.
Coming to a class
I've never done Kundalini. Can I still come?
Yes. Kundalini asks for presence, not flexibility or experience. You will not be the only beginner in the room, and nothing in a class requires you to already know something.
If you're nervous, come to a community class first — one hour, €15, no commitment.
What actually happens in a class?
Breathwork, movement, mantra, meditation and relaxation, in a sequence called a kriya. Each kriya works on something specific — the nervous system, the glandular system, the mind, the subtle body.
It is not a workout and not a stretch class. Some of it is physically demanding, some of it is very still. You can rest at any point.
What do I bring?
Comfortable clothes you can move and sit in, water, and something warm for the relaxation — the body cools down fast at the end. Mats are available at the studios.
Come on an empty-ish stomach if you can: two hours after eating is comfortable.
How long is a class?
Between one hour and 2h30, depending on where we are. Community classes are one hour. Cycle sessions are 90 minutes. Sadhana at the ashram is 2h30, before dawn.
Which language do you teach in?
French, English or Portuguese — I'm trilingual, and I teach fully in all three. Tell me which one you'd rather practise in, or let the room decide.
It matters more than it sounds. In a practice built on precise instruction and on mantra, you should not be translating while you breathe.
Do you teach online?
Yes, for one-to-one sessions and private groups. The weekly classes are in person — the room, and the other people in it, do part of the work.
Cycles and bookings
What's the difference between a cycle and a community class?
A community class stands alone. Come when you can, leave when you like, one hour, €15.
A cycle is a sequence. Each session prepares the next, and the effect comes from the accumulation rather than from any single morning. It costs more per session because it asks more of both of us.
Can I join a cycle after it has started?
Usually not. The sequence is built in order, and arriving in the middle means arriving into something already underway. Write to me and we'll see — sometimes it works.
What if I miss a session?
Within a cycle, a missed session isn't refunded or carried over — your place was held and the room paid for. If I can offer a substitute date, I will.
For a community class, cancel at least 24 hours ahead and you get a credit valid three months.
Can I get a refund?
It depends what you booked, and the honest reason is worth knowing: I'm an independent teacher, not a studio. I pay for the room whether or not you come, and the payment provider keeps its fee either way.
So: community classes give a credit rather than cash. One-to-one sessions are refundable up to 7 days before, credited up to 48 hours. Cycles are refundable up to 14 days before they start. Full detail in the terms of sale.
Whatever the timing, you can always give your place to someone else, free of charge. Just tell me their name.
The Inner Sanctuary
What is it, exactly?
A moment outside of time. Two hours or more, one to one, with nothing decided in advance — and one question underneath everything we do.
You want out of the pattern. The repetition, the loop, the thing you return to knowing exactly where it ends. Everyone wants that.
Are you willing to let go of what feeds it?
That is a different question, and it is the one that decides whether anything moves. Most of the work is finding out what your real answer is.
What happens in the room?
We move through what is needed — tarot, tea ceremony, sahumerio, sound, breathwork, conversation, silence — in whatever proportion the day asks for. Nothing is predetermined, because what you arrived with is rarely what surfaces.
It is intense. Things come loose. You leave lighter, not because the weight disappeared but because you finally met it.
Do I need to know what I want from it?
No. Not knowing is one of the more common reasons to come.
What you do need is willingness to look at what you keep going back to — including the parts that are comfortable, familiar, or that other people expect of you.
Is this therapy?
No, and it does not replace it. I am not a therapist and I do not treat mental or physical illness. If that is what you need, I will say so.
This is a ceremonial space for someone who is already sensing what has to change and hasn't yet stopped long enough to face it.
Why does it cost more than a class?
Because it is not a class with fewer people in it. It is two hours minimum built entirely around one person, on the day, holding practices I spent years being entrusted with.
And because the price is part of the work. Something you paid attention to is harder to walk away from unchanged.
The women's cohort
Is it for me?
It is for women building something of their own and not yet standing on it — the income, the work, the life. If you are already established and looking for peers, this is probably not your room.
There is no requirement to have a business. Some of the work is deciding what you're building.
Why eight, and why closed?
Eight is the largest number that still lets everyone speak in an evening. Closed means the same women across the whole cycle, so that by the third dinner nobody explains themselves from the beginning.
What happens at a dinner?
Conversation around the element of the evening, an Ayurvedic dinner cooked for you, a circle, and sound healing — mantra and gong. Between dinners, one text per element to read.
At my home in Lisbon, eight women around one table.
Do I have to come to all six?
Yes, as far as life allows. The cycle is built in a precise order and the group forms through repetition. Missing one is human; missing several changes what the others are in.
Practical
I'm pregnant, injured, or managing a health condition.
Tell me before the session and I'll adapt. This matters particularly for pregnancy, recent surgery, cardiovascular or respiratory conditions, epilepsy, glaucoma, and blood pressure — breathwork is powerful and some techniques are not for every body.
Nothing here replaces medical advice.
Can you come to my company, my team, my retreat?
Yes — office, studio, home, or wherever you already gather, in Lisbon and around, in person or online. No mats or experience needed. Write to me with the group size and what you're hoping for.
Can I buy a session for someone else?
Yes. Buy it in your name and tell me who it's for.
Still unsure which door is yours? That's a good reason to write rather than a reason to wait. Tell me where you are and I'll point you somewhere — including away from me, if that's the honest answer.
